As someone in my late 30s who used to go out and see bands all over Chicago — most of whom never “made it” — but now goes out to concerts less often (mostly because the bands I liked broke up), I’d be curious about this, too. Back then, you saw the band then used the Internet to find out more. Do kids in their early

i feel like i should be commenting on this article, but i don’t know if i actually have anything to say. it’s been a while since an indie rock album really gave me pause and made me think about how singularly great it was. i don’t know if i’ve experienced that since past life martyred saints. american dream and pure

The essay hints as to why I never really got into LCD Soundsystem.

I’ve never really been “cool” (as if this needs to be said; I’m commenting on the AV Club after all) or attempted to get into any of the scenes. Part of that is that I’m still young (28), so of course I can’t really speak to the heyday of mid-2000s

“We all live on the internet now; cities and scene mean little to those outside of them.”

Yeah! I’m never standing in line for their products again!

Lol I’m exactly the same way. I hate the Apple does this but at this point I’m so ingrained with the iOS system that switching to anything else is impossible.

Apple better fucking fix this or I am going to keep buying their products anyway.

Ragnarok was so much fun. Usually I don’t grin like an idiot when I’m at the theatre by myself, but it was a vibrantly colored movie that hit the right comic notes for me.

Agreed. Also Thor: Ragnarok > Last Jedi.

Counterpoint: I’m quite pleased to see it here.

In your opinion.

Logan beat it for me by doing something genuinely different and emotionally resonant with a character who it sometimes felt like there were no surprises left.

Just once, it would be nice to see an end of the year film list and be able to say I’ve at least had a chance to see all those films. It’s almost getting to be like the theatre where only the very rich or those with special privileges get the opportunity to actually view certain kinds of films now. I’m really looking

So Justice League has made almost as much in a month as The Last Jedi has in three and a half days.

I have always stayed with the show because of the parents. And I am ALL here for Alice and FP stories. They’ve had chemistry since their first scene together. We definitely need to learn more of their shared history.

The Black Hood plot has been executed really well for most of this season, but I agree the finish was a bit underwhelming, though the grave setpiece was pretty solid, mainly due to Lili Reinhart’s customarily great acting.

Yeah this season hasn’t worked that well for me. The black hood stuff hasn’t been very compelling and all the relationships (well the teenage ones) have been kind of stale. I loved Betty-Jughead last season, but this season, I couldn’t feel that spark. Never cared for Archie-Veronica so the extra emphasis on their

I’m so glad Emma Stone’s getting more work.

This sounds...good? Sleepy Hollow showrunner does not inspire great confidence though.

Also, I had no idea Samsung made up that big a chunk in SK’s GDP. That’s not just absurd, it’s dangerous as hell to have a 1/5 of your economy in a single company.
