No, the bill has been paid. It’s policy in Orlando that any use of any city facility must be paid for up front, no exceptions. You don’t pay, you don’t play.
I posted this before, but he’s coming to Orlando and Orlando required payment up front. Of course, it’s a deep blue city in a deep blue county with a Democratic mayor.
Or the third option, “Hey, those other guys were idiots, but I’m smart and I’ll make sure he doesn’t rip me off!”
Unfortunately a lot of the “nice things” never even make it to the floor of Goodwill because they’re hoarded/claimed by employees.
That ain’t workin’, that’s the way you do it.
I learned about a hundred years ago in high school typing class. I did 65 wpm on their old manuals and if you know anything about typing on an old manual, 65 wpm is excellent time. I managed to do 100 wpm on an IBM Selectric back in the day — Selectrics were considered the cream of the crop in electric typewriter and…
Here, too, in high school in the early ‘70s (yeah, I’m old). Our instructor was a shorter man who stood on a box at the front and kept the metronome-type cadence going with a pointer tapping the podium for three-letter practice. “tap-tap-tap space, tap-tap-tap space....” I don’t remember the four- or five-letter words…

I took a “secretarial” typing class in high school 1967-68. So we learned all kinds of extra stuff like how to fold a letter correctly, how to work with carbon paper and how to use eraser shields. I was typing about 65wpm at the end of the class.
High school typing class with typewriters and these flat cardboard books that would stand next to the typewriter and give us drills to follow. Two spaces after the period, how many lines to put between parts of a memo, all that good stuff. The typing class teacher also was the advisor for FBLA at my school and she…
I’m biased, because I’m a librarian (though not at a public library), but my favorite thing is the fact it’s the only public institution around where you can spend time without having to have an explicit purpose or pay a fee.
Having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got a library card!
Sure, but for all of Charles’ and Anne’s formative years (Anne was ten when Andrew was born, iirc), Anne was “the spare!” That would’ve made for a decade-plus of Charles and Anne being subjected to all the attendant privileges/burdens of heir & spare, including a more complicated relationship with their mom-Queen. By…
Anyone who thinks regulating the internet as a utility is a communist idea is probably a right wing reactionary, an executive at a telecom, or both. Which means you can safely ignore them.
I think it’s genius and not a new concept. I wish we could afford 2 adjoining apartments, with a special door for our son to go between, so my husband could make his goddamn mess in his own space and we could hang out (and bone) in mine.
