I’m pretty sure the thing that helps with memory retention is forming the letters by hand (as opposed to typing or dictating), so cursive or printing are both okay.

I understand some people find cursive faster/easier, but if that were the universal experience cursive wouldn’t be this far into decline. It’s not as of this trend only started when laptops entered schools.

I don’t think it saves money at all since they have to pay video editors too. They’re probably doing it because everyone else is doing it, and some over-priced consultant who’s good at talking convinced them that people love videos and will stop coming to jezebel if they don't have videos
