Interesting. Yesterday, io9 put Germain effusively positive (as usual) reaction front and center in their article about how everyone think the Snyder Cut is like, so damn good actually.

Let’s not rewrite history please. The Snyder Cut was born from a conspiracy theory. The claim that the cut previously existed has been proven false. WB pandering to internet trolls is no different than Disney letting the internet dictate TROS and we saw how that turned out.

I don’t think Snyder is a terrible filmmaker - I just think that his skillset is simply narrow and limited, and WB keep giving him projects that are he is ill-suited for. Namely, projects which require nuances and self-awareness, which Snyder does not have enough of. 300 was a perfect project for him because the…

I honestly think this movie is less meant to be a movie and more an edgelord parade of fan service. 

Zach Snyder’s entire career can be summed up like this:

“Every scene is directed the same way, as though it were taking place on Mount Olympus: A wet mop hits the floor like Excalibur, while a sesame seed plummets for a small eternity during an at least relevantly slow-mo (and restored) introduction for Miller’s neurotic speed-demon rookie.”

“Did we need three whole glorified deleted scenes of boring space invader Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds, unrecognizable in voice and appearance) teleconferencing his progress to a flunky of future franchise heavy Darkseid?”

Sounds exactly like what I expected Zack Snyder’s Justice League to be. The epilogue in particular sounds brutal. It’s infuriating that despite him knowing he got a second chance that’s not afforded to many filmmakers - already a group that’s pretty exclusive - and getting not just money to finish the VFX but to film…
