Eh, I’m not complaining about the use of other cultures, on that regard they make a good work of portraying them without being disrespectful. I see no cultural appropriation or anything in there.

It is at least to me who live in a tropical country.

Honestly, I’m going to watch it, but kind of growing tired of Disney/Pixar’s trend of “Let’s use a exotic setting with a foreign culture our animators been studying where something supernatural/magical happens”.

Yeah, not that I’m hating it, but if you’re going to go with “cute weird looking aliens for kids” and not using any of the established alien races, then why bother using the Star Trek name at all?

I can perfectly enjoy Woody Allen’s movies, the Harry Potter series, Firefly, Buffy and a long list of things made by controversial people because I’m not a tool and I have a functional brain to separate an awful person from a work I enjoy.

In typical Snyder fashion, it’s another thing that it’s "important" just because he didn’t get to do it before.
