Ah, so Oldman was only posturing at subtle acting in Tinker Tailor, but in Batman he was actually doing the real thing, with his grand total of 3-and-a-half scenes? Gotcha.

Oh, it's the English term for "Nintendo".

There's an entire scene in Armageddon dedicated to explaining how the drillers aren't actually overgrown children but highly capable experts - one line explicitly points out the number of qualifications (Ivy League qualifications no less) one member of the team has.

I didn't get any of that. I got a character who might as well not have been present for all he adds to the movie… which itself is a comic book movie. We don't see any of this corruption besides a couple of tossed off lines/scenes depicting generic mob guys smugly evading the law. Where are these multiple swallowings

They were oppressors before the war, during and after it. They literally only came in on the side of the allies after the Nazis - who they were allied with - betrayed them. And they were only able to effect a resistance to the Nazis thanks to the thousands upon thousands of tons of materiel provided by the US and UK

Jim Gordon in the Dark Knight movie is not even a character. Do we ever actually see him doing anything? All Oldman needed to do to "inhabit" this character is stand around and read the script.

"since when did Canadians talk about their "mama"s?"

Welp, there goes my never having knowingly heard an Ed Sheeran song achievement.

I like to imagine tons of metalheads hate Destroyer because it's not brutal at all.

…She's The Man.

I've intentionally not read up on exactly what he was supposed to have done. It's like how Holocaust deniers clearly cannot face the enormity of what they obviously know the Nazis did, so they intentionally avoid learned sources explaining what it was in the kind of detail that would actually make them face their

Armageddon > The Rock

Every single other aspect of the film was so gratuitous, you sort of just assume it must have gratuitous nudity as well. There probably is a scene set in a brothel that they shoot up or something.

Really good blow and a terrible hooker.

I both did and didn't think he would look exactly like Louis CK in a Sawx hat.

Nothing about this film is appealing to anyone not under the influence of inhibition or judgement-affecting substances.

They're banking on them having made enough of themselves in the intervening period to be able to justify spending $1000 on complete garbage, but not enough of themselves to have recognised that this is complete garbage.

Political reasons like enslaving fully half of the Europe you apparently forgot existed?

What have we sacrificed by using phones? And in what manner is it a "sudden and total capitulation"?

"The only real question now is whether Kalanick was purposefully playing up a relatively mundane achievement or if this is all just a misunderstanding fueled by Wii Sports’ weird scoring system and the ravages of human memory."
