As my man Samuel Johnson said "Pointing out grammatical mistakes on the internet is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

This. I don't know where this 24 hate is coming from (beyond the fact that 24 hate has been deemed cool by upper echelons of AV Club and the general tv critic community and beinh the reliable and obedient sheep that we are, we will imitate to the best of our abilities). The last couple of seasons didn't exactly set

So this is what Dogan was doing before the island called on him

I think the politician lady trying to recruit Brody into running for congress is in on it. The congressman was setup as he claimed and this is a plot to pave Brody's way into congress. To what end? I don't know, perhaps part of the plot is him infiltrating critical areas of the government and conducting sabotage on

Has Todd VanDerWerff been placed on suicide watch yet?

I think the Ice Truck killer is real, he's not like Harry. The show made a big deal out of his arm earlier in the season, why would they bring it up out of the blue like that? The only explanation is that the hand is part of some kind of ritual to bring the icetruck killer back to life. It's not that much of a

I disagree with Joshua's theory. The newspaper specifically referred to Geller as the "Doomsday Killer", that specific lingo has only been used internally by Miami Metro, how could Travis possible know that if it was a figment of his imagination?

Why are they going on hiatus already? It's barely even midway through november. In future seasons TVD should follow the Lost/24 model, start the season in January/Feb and run episodes back to back.

The unrealistic depiction of computers as some sort of 'god machine' on tv shows is getting out of hand. Masuka's new assistance 'wiped off any sign of that sale being made from the internet' that is pretty much the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Just a B? Come on, this was the strongest episode of the season. This is easily an 'A' esp compared to the slower episode last week which got an A-. Did the cave at the end remind anyone else of Jacob's cliff cave on LOST?

I hate it when TV shows go out of their way to make the characters stupid. Cassie's stupidity over Jake is just incredulous and it's disappointing.

Disappointing episode, hopefully this was just a hiccup and the show will be back to being as good as it was the last couple of weeks. And can we stop having literally every guy in Chance Harbour be enamored by Cassie and falling in love with her? It's starting to get annoying.

I remember the show starting to get really good when we start to get backstory on the brothers around episode 5 or so and it gets amazing around episode 8 or so when Damon's plan is revealed.

Oh and can Damon and Alaric resume their bromance again? It hurts to see them fighting like this.

I don't think this episode was as good as the last few but this is probably the calm before the next set of craziness. So this is the first time we've seen these characters go to school since early Season 1?

I don't know what they did with her hair this episode though. She had great hair in the previous episodes and the makeup people ruined it this episode by straightening it too much and getting rid of the volume and bounce.

Anyone else thought that the last scene was intentionally or unintentionally funny? The terrorist lady saying the line "I love being near the airport, it's perfect for us". I really hope the writers were trying to get a laugh there

"Or, it's possible that the show is just too challenging for the average,
insipid American and only a smaller, loyal viewership would've stuck
with it."

Are you fuck*ing kidding me? Fringe aired an ENTIRE SEASON after the biggest FOX hits of that time House and American Idol. Most shows would kill to have House or AI leadins for a couple of episodes let alone an entire season. Having AI and House (esp in '08) as a leadin is the equivalent of having a product endorsed

"I get the dad being bent out of shape about killing a kid, but isn't
this the same evil fucker who killed Cassie's mom? It's a bit late to
develop a conscience."
