This is a Good Take. Chelsea Manning was a Government Employee who, if her confessions are to be believed, had a moral quandry to overcome. Her work can be charitably called a ‘Patriotic Act’ in attempting to make her nation live up to it’s own ideals.

yes thank you. Assange isn’t a whistleblower or a journalist, he was using his position to attempt to shape politics the way he saw fit.

this is a silly argument, not all speech is protected, I’m not a libertarian, you can support press freedom without supporting undermining democracy to support Russia to get paid. Glenn Greenwald is probably a tankie too. 

If there’s any truth to the notion that he/WikiLeaks aided Manning in cracking that password, then that’s a different kettle of fish than press freedom.

This.  Assange showed voters stolen information that made them choose to not vote Hillary.  Without his info-terrorism Trump would be in jail instead of the Oval Office.
