The problem is, none of those great great you mentioned—ring time, aero, etc.—necessarily make it a FUN car. It sounds perfectly fine, but most people expect a type R to be an insane white-knuckle experience that leaves a giant smile plastered across your face. As in, it should handily out-crazy the Sti and Focus RS…

NA Miatas have been steadily increasing in price the past few years to the point where the good ones are as much as a decent rx8. Really hoping the rx8 stays this low for a few more years...

They have, and to the point where a flawless, low mileage one can fetch 30k. Maybe 40k if the stars aligned perfectly for the seller. A good body, running but with issues and high miles Vr4 can still be found under 10k.

Neighbors called the cops on me and three friends for having an airsoft gun war once. We were 8. Cops had guns pointed at us. Could have gotten real nasty if we assumed they were “joining the war” and just there to have fun.

If you ever do a solo trip, remove the passenger seat. A sleeping pad turns the passenger area into a VERY comfortable nap spot

Not true in the slightest. You won’t get the full return on investment, but a bone stock common car like a Brz will sell for much less than a similar condition one that’s been properly boosted with accompanying mods.

Not missing out too much. I saw a Miata (non cup edition, some kind of product testing..?) with this hardtop around Seattle and it was pretty unattractive. Looks better in the picture, and that’s not saying much

S2k is pretty well loved around here. While I certainly like it, the BMW roadster has nothing on the Miata in terms of handling. We’re talking base challenger and Camaro z/28. Same class maybe, but not comparable. And Miata prices are actually climbing, they’re not too far apart anymore for better or for worse
