My friend just vanished when we were walking a few kilometers to a pizza place, and after I noticed that...
Working on the ad right now, and hoping to sell it very soon after getting back to Seattle. In a perfect world I’d have the sale ready to be made before I flew back home.
And yet even just an hour afterwards, I can already tell it’s one of my most cherished memories. Picture is of my unrelated Hake fish n chips dinner.
Here’s the view from the hotel pool. Bangkok knows how to do rooftop activities right. I’m going to try to make it over to the rooftop tennis courts in a few hours...
Bangkok car scene is amazing. All the tuk-tuks have fat exhausts and sound like V8 mustangs. They’re Abarth levels of “what the fuck was that?!”
It’s been... Bumpy, to say the least.
And a late dinner. Tried an American style steak then grabbed drinks at a jazz bar. The steak was the second best I've ever had, and the jazz bar was nice. Finding quite places that aren't packed is a godsend in Shibuya, and if they have good ambience and music too? Jackpot.
Seattle public transportation is a joke, and pricey for what you (don’t) get. Not to mention the endless “ infrastructure improvement” projects that always that either go nowhere, or don’t make a noticeable positive difference. NYC subways—while providing some great people watching—smelled like piss at best and were…
Looked nice though. Like an Infiniti Q- something or other. Which... Might be what it is?
Something was lost in translation, but getting shit faced at a tiiiiiiiny bar while listening to American and Japanese metal is something I won’t soon forget. Rockoholic is easily my second favorite bar I’ve been to this trip.
when a 2000gt is the least interesting thing on display, you know the museum is a good one.
I miss the scratchy bois.
I’ve been thinking about a bathroom remodel for years. Slowly but surely, a plan has been forming. Here are some of the key elements.
err, wait. That’s not right. I’m the tile guy now! 18" tiles with 1/16" joints, because the manufacturer reccomended 1/8" joints would look massive. Schluter trim on the inside of the window, matched so well to the tile that most people so far have assumed it was tile. Reveal around the window has been kept a perfect…
I cleaned up my grandma’s kitchen and snapped a few new pictures of the old menus she has up as wallpaper. Some real gems in there, from decades firmly in the rear view.
I'm going to go bomb some forest service roads after work
Due to the fact that I never managed to title my last Volvo, the guy who bought it and drove it to Arizona is having trouble getting it in his name. (it also had a serpentine belt snap 600 miles into the trip home but that’s neither here nor there...) He sent me the above pdf, saying he thinks that if I get that…
I chatted with the owner for quite a while after seeing the car at a gas station. I honestly couldn’t believe how clean the subie was. He showed me around the car, saying he bought it a few years ago and has loved it ever since.
