probably not beyond his scope at all! an maybe more importantly, the Pi is set up so it’s REAAAAAAAALLLLY hard to break permanently, so even if he doesn’t quite get it, he won’t destroy it while he learns. They’re cheap enough ($35) that even if he did figure out a way to kill it, it’s not a HUGE loss

I have a Sony a6000 and I absolutely love it. It’s incredibly portable, has an APS-C sensor, beautiful color reproduction, and amazingly quick autofocus.

Sony A5100. It’s so tiny, but powerful.

I know far too many reformed alcoholics to *ever* push a drink on someone. I’m of the school of thought that you never ask someone why they’re single, never ask someone why they don’t have children, and never push alcohol on them. I’ve always felt that pressing someone who’s said “no” is extremely rude, as my parents

Instead of spending 20K on a Taurus I didn’t much like, I spent 35K and bought a Passat in 2000. Fifteen years and 160,000 miles later, it’s still going. That Taurus I didn’t buy is undoubtedly either rusting in a parts lot somewhere or cubed long ago.

My Kindle. $120, but has saved me a lot of money on paper versions of books, saved me having to buy bookshelves, and saves me time going to/from the library (not to mention late fees - library ebooks just disappear instead!).

DEFINITELY! I bought a sports car in 2007. I still daily drive it, and grin like an idiot when I start it up or throw it into some twisty sections of road, while most of my neighbors swap Toyota/Honda/appliance cars every 3 years.

Definitely! People usually see frugality and spending extravagantly as polar opposites. The more I think about how I want to use my money, the more I see how the two actually go hand in hand. You’re frugal on the stuff you don’t care about so you have more money to spend on the things you love. So yes, I think

Even I fall into the fallacy of instant gratification in terms of how I wanted to tackle my debt.

Good article Kristin. I think it hits home for a lot of people especially ones coming out of college or university incurring student loans along the way.

This show is whats wrong with Anime.

In my experience, Pushbullet is excellent for those moments where you’re reading something on one device and need it on another. If I’m reading an article on my phone and want to pull it up on the desktop, Pushbullet’s easier than something like Keep or Evernote. One button and the tab is open on my computer.

Many newer travel routers support WISP mode, which will pass the splash screen through to your device (laptop, tablet, etc) for authentication. I traveled extensively this past summer and used my Chromecast everywhere, via my little Netgear Trek travel router. After a couple of easy config steps, the Netgear will pass

I stay at a lot of Hampton Inns. In fact, I am in one now. They are usually pretty good about have decent Wi-Fi and ethernet connections. Though there is probably about 30% of them that don't. Their ethernet connections also require a splash screen login though.

I'm really eager for Hangouts to integrate Chromcast support. It'd be awesome to just place a little stand and my phone in front of the TV, and BAM, TV video calling :)

btw Melanie, you forgot to mention that if you have a Chromecast and your pics are on Google+ Photos, you can cast pics to your Chromecast.

I agree! I don't think Google+ does enough to advertise these features, unfortunately. I know a few people who've been surprised that auto awesome, etc. exist.
