I still wanna see his Wolfman dammit. :(

You ain't seen Bad Boys II?

That's odd, cos I thought Pain and Gain was the only good movie he's made since The Rock. I really enjoyed it.

Right. Or when people say that subtitles are only inaccurate when they're dubtitles that follow the English dub instead of being a translation, despite the fact that literal subtitles are some of the most jarring things. ("Don't utter strange noise." being a favorite of mine.) For what it's worth, I am actually

It's mostly a case of what most people with that mindset grew up with. Really bored or terrible actors casually explaining everything, even if it clearly wasn't what was happening (in some cases because they were airing it for kids and they cut it to ribbons). So I understand where they got the mindset from, but it

Don't feel too bad. My favorite movie of 2016, Shin Godzilla, got a little dismissive festival review written about, dismissing it because there was too many scenes of politicians talking. Y'know, the film where the whole point is how the Japanese government would actually deal with a giant monster had too many scenes

I haven't watched it yet myself. Probably will sometime soon.

I'd say I was much readier for Tennant and Smith to be over than I am for Capaldi. It feels like he just showed up and now he's heading out the door.

If it has, I've never seen it. The only script I've ever seen online has been the one they published in book form that I used to own, which again is the same as the film, just with that senseless vehicle chase that was deemed too expensive.

I've never been onboard with Whedon to be honest. I think he's written some good episodes of some decent shows and Avengers and Serenity were pretty good times. (Also, I still enjoy Alien Resurrection and it greatly annoys me when he tries to say they didn't get his script. It's exactly what he wrote with the

I'm not saying it is? Like I can count numerous times when they ignored problematic content to gush over something, couldn't differentiate between being able to be entertained by something and criticizing it and ignoring some big flaws just cos something had token representation. I'm just saying Whedon needs to not

I'm not a fan of Attack on Titan, but even that movie was amazing how disconnected it was from its source. I'm so happy Hideaki Anno was there with Higuchi (director of the AoT films) on Shin Godzilla cos I don't want to imagine that beautiful film being a miserable slog like those were.

I like Refn but I'd rather not have my first solo Batgirl movie be something that actively hates its own protagonist. I'm not a fan of Joss Whedon either, but he's a better fit than Refn.

Yeah, there's been the times when he's called out feminist websites lead by women (The Mary Sue in particular), slamming them for running a clip from Jurassic World, when in the article for the clip, they were discussing the problems with it. He kinda tries to act like he's the expert on feminism and everyone else

Yup. Tsubaraya at least makes up for it, as they put up entire shows on their Youtube, available in all regions (without subtitles, but still) for free. Toho is worse than Nintendo about this stuff, if that can be believed.

Exactly. The "big" three studios that produce kaiju (Toho, Tsubaraya, Daiei/Kadakowa) aren't hot on anyone but themselves about footage being used, especially when it falls into making fun of that footage. Hell, even if you have severe reverence for that material, they still give you trouble. Ask any person on Youtube

Probably just a limited window they had to release. (Just so you know, Daiei/Kadakowa, Gamera's parent company, was actually quite fussy and Shout only managed to get them out as they had already licensed them for release outside of the set. Also, Toho had tons of issues with the show licensing a film that never had

Rock and roll martian!

You're welcome

Batman v Superman is still worth watching for murder crazy Ben Affleck Batman and Wonder Woman's out of nowhere rock theme. I don't care if it's good, those two things made it worth the watch.
