Plus Blade Runner doesn't have a huge fanbase outside of genre fans. I was under the impression that even for all the praise it gets, it's still very much a cult film.

Well, sure, if you don't plan beforehand and don't get a dog that fits your personality or if a dog is just dumped on you. I've met total asshole dogs who would be a pain to live with (most chihuahuas/mini pins.)
