It’s of no use to anyone outside of marketers and sociologists though. But it’s been increasingly used to dismiss a number of concerns people of many ages have.

I hate this. I hate this whole generation thing. I hate how a categorization of cultural and marketing trends came to become important and even definitive outside of marketing and making cultural studies just a tiny bit easier.
I guess I just would like to listen to something that’s actually interesting and fun again. I don’t care how heavy it is lyrically. I’m just not into this doom pop sound. When you mentioned bubblegum pop I thought you were holding out on something like the 70s AM influenced sound of early 00s New Pornographers or the…
I’m also from the 90s and I don’t mean lyrical content. The lyrical content of today isn’t a downer but the sound is kind of a bummer. It’s like dance music for bomb shelters. I’ve heard a few songs by the Weeknd and it feels like the only sorta sex he has is the kind where he openly weeps for hours. The only songs…
Bubblegum pop still exists? I only ever hear the gloomiest songs on the radio. No one seems to be having any fun these days.
I didn’t have cable when Pete & Pete was running so I missed the boat on that completely.
He also wrote a few issues of the comic and a couple eps of the tv series.
I wonder who’d hold what role in that society. I feel like I’d be the overly friendly person who introduces any new folks to everyone else who survived. You know, the kinda character that’s supposed to be make exposition less obvious but only highlights that the creators have stuff on their mind other than gradual…
Read Kaijumax Season 1. I had a great time with that and I’m really looking forward to the next two seasons.
Heyo!
As a long time Kinja user I hate this already. The mobile experience is 10× worse. Especially if you’re on a phone without much memory. Open a single additional tab and by the time you come back you have to reload and wade through hundreds of comments all over again
The US will be experiencing its first total eclipse in about 38 years this coming Monday. What wonder, miracle or feat from comics would you love to see in real life somehow? It could be anything from a rare cosmic event, a location, an incredible heroic deed, or something unique and visually stunning that's always…
Heyo!
I think you're might me making this out to be more than it is. I don't watch Let's Plays. I definitely wasn't at anyone's house for thousands of hours watching them play video games. We did other stuff. It was the Midwest in the 90s. Lots of bike riding, Rollerblading and general preteen bullshitting in those last few…
I watched other people play the Genesis game. I didn't own an actual video game console until around 2000 when the PS1 hit the scene. I've never been good at video games either. So I suspect actually playing them myself would've been an intensely frustrating experience. I just sat to the side while friends played for…
I mean the entire franchise. Not just the games. Actually pretty much everything but the original games.
I'm glad fans have a new game to enjoy. But I've found that I kinda hate the aesthetics of the franchise when it comes to character design. And I'm generally irritated by its approach to storytelling and character across the franchise.
About the same for me but less because of right wingers and more because commenters got super one track and editorial started striking down a lot of the best features.
I need to read more FF, because I haven't read nearly enough and know even less. But what I've read of the Kirby/Lee era is impressive. I'm surprised by the fast pacing and seemingly boundless creativity. Just a whole lot of fun. I wish I was capable of that sort of thing.
My favorite cartoon featuring them might be…
I wish your wife well.
I'll be sticking around. All those years on io9 mean I already have a Kinja account.
