Batman Returns is such a weird movie and I'm so glad it exists. I feel like WB isn't given enough credit for its near extreme commitment to auteur-driven blockbusters. Even when corporate meddling occurs these sorts of films always feel like they could only be the product of the people who made them.

It just feels like IW will not deliver. And I hope they're prepared for its probable underperforming. I hope it doesn't stop them from making smaller films that don't feel the need to be tent poles or dominate the multiplexes anymore. I think there's a lesson to be learned from Deadpool about simply providing an

I don't think the Russos are good cinematic stylists and I feel style is a major component to making a Superman film truly great.

Singer just has a way of putting together at least one incredible action set piece for each of his superhero films and the Nightcrawler opening is the best of the lot. Followed closely by the plane rescue in Superman Returns.

Viola Davis was pretty solid as Waller. Like A+. But I wish she was given more to do. I also like the general embracing of magic while completely ignoring the urge to wink. Also shout out to Jai Courtney as loveable asshole Captain Boomerang. Guy should avoid leads and probably stick to being a character actor. Seems

My problem is my favorite superhero is Superman. And he has no great movies. Even the Reeve movie just misses the mark for me. There will likely never be a great Superman movie because the only creative minds he seems to get is people beholden to the Donner film or think Superman needs to be fixed.

Any stand out songs or do you recommend just listening through the whole thing?

Oh. That does sound like a good time at the theatre. I should try and listen to the soundtrack today.

All my stuff is set in and around the Northwest Ohio area or a heavily fictionalized version of it. I mean for the ones that don't take place on other planets and such. This whole area feels like an underrated place for settings.

Do you have a favorite among the Dark Knight trilogy. Mine is Begins for some reason.

The Cap films don't all the way work for me. But I will admit they do what they need to and do it very very well

I hope Black Panther is good. That and Captain Marvel seem to be the most exciting coming out of Marvel post CW.

Geoffrey Rush is great in that. I wish his whole villain thing was a little more well-defined. But he does so much with so little and doesn't even resort to the usual scenery chewing.

I enjoy elements of Suicide Squad but am iffy on the whole. But I'm glad you had a good time. I knew you were worried.

Great to hear. Glad you had such a good time.

Thank you. I'm not really sure what I'm even qualified to do. I didn't go to college and I can't drive. At least I know how to write though. Maybe j can look into that more.

Yeah it really cooled down around here lately. I'm so glad. That heat was killing me. I couldn't even sleep. The air was too thick.

Good luck with your continued job hunt. Though at least your current job isn't too hellish. What movies do they have in that cult horror section?

I still have no idea what Kinky Boots is. I just recognize it as a hit musical that's the basis of a lot of jokes across all media.

If the superhero film genre was nuked out of existence, which film(s) would you miss most?
