It’s a per-unit cost issue. Offering a Golf R 2-door, with cloth interior, LED tail lights and a sunroof (which is what I want) adds complexity to the ordering process as well as cost ($600+ per unit for those lights alone). What annoys me is some cars do have a lot of fun options, the Beetle being one.
