Absolutely agree. I have a GTI, and I try very hard to not get on boost until oil reaches at least 160F. I always keep my dash display to show the oil temp.

How old/big are your kids? I am curious what your definition of comfortable is. Was it the harsh ride that made it uncomfortable for the kids? Haha! I learned how to drive stick when I was 16 on my dad’s manual Jetta. The car was only about a year old or so, and I tortured that clutch so badly, that you could smell the clutch inside the car. I stalled about 15 times on my first try, and I am not exaggerating.
