That’s my concern; things like property rights and child custody/visitation in a multi way divorce would be a clusterfuck. We already have a legal device for pooling assets, a corporation, but we don’t have corporations getting custody of children (yet).

Moreover, it’s not at all clear to me that there’s a class of

I agree completely. It’s hard. Terribly hard...but if your body can’t keep you alive due to a terminal non curable or treatable disease, then you should not be alive.

I read elsewhere that the experimental procedure the parents want (which has not even been tested in mice) would have zero chance to improve his brain function even in the most miraculous of best-case scenarios. This is Terry Schiavo all over again. The brain matter is irreparably damaged, full stop.

I hate these stories. They’re impossibly difficult and cruelly unfair. But I’m still of the mind that if my child’s organs cannot function without a machine doing the work for them, this is not life.

This is a very strange thing to pick as the issue.

My issue has always been that multi-partner arrangements have far too often been used as pathways to sexual domination and abuse. That seems much, much less likely in same sex partnerships of this type.

I have long thought that Blue Ivy was a nice name unfairly lumped in with terrible celebrity baby names.

When I was learning to drive I kept complaining about all the drivers and pedestrians breaking the rules until my instructor told me that most people who die in a car crash could have ‘but, I had the right of way’ put on their tombstone. Better to pay attention and not assume other drivers will be perfect.

This happened to my wife, and she was found at fault for not clearing the intersection, BUT WHO THE HELL INTENTIONALLY HITS SOMEONE WITH HIS CAR?!?!?!?! (and how is that person not at fault)

TD is giving the other driver’s version of events as gospel truth. No one else, including the cops, is saying that Venus ran a red light.

The illustration is helpful but it’s still only the version given by the driver. There’s no evidence that a red light was run as TD keeps insisting. The cops never said that’s what happened. The only evidence that puts Williams at fault is that she should not still have been at the intersection when the other driver

I was taught that the person in the intersection always has right of way over anyone entering the intersection, as long as the light was green when they pulled into the intersection. Kind of like a traffic circle - you have to wait until the circle is clear before you can enter (and I wish the douche bag who T-boned

The two sides are telling different stories. Venus says she was in the intersection because she got stuck after entering on a green light. The victim says Venus ran a red light.

The police say she’s at fault in the accident because she violated the other driver’s right of way, but they couldn’t be bothered to issue her a citation or ticket. That hardly sounds like the open and shut case you think it is.

Everything I’ve read makes it look and sound like Venus should not have been found at fault. She was hit by the other driver as she was attempting to clear the intersection from the previous light cycle. No one (from what I have seen) has disputed that she entered the intersection while she had a green light, and that

But people blunder on the road all the time. The correct reaction for the other driver isn’t to barrel into them because they screwed up.

But the other driver also clearly wasn’t paying attention if they were trying to go through a red light as Venus was going through an intersection.

If it’s true that the other driver was sitting at a red light, then that’s a hell of a case of contributory negligence. And I’d put it at 50%.

Except when you hear what happened it becomes clear that both parties should have been found at fault.

Honestly, she’s an unfit parent, and maybe someone whose decision to have a family was a purposeful and meaningful one that involved lots of paperwork and special foster care/adoption classes would be better for these kids. That kid is honestly lucky to be alive, considering I’m pretty sure that if his parents were
