RE: Bumpers - we put in the “breathable” ones because our son kept getting his hand stuck between the rails and waking himself up. If you’re concerned about them, try them out yourself. Put your nose right up against it and try breathing. Sure, your nostrils are bigger, but they really seem pretty safe.
