It wasn't like nothing happened - plot-wise, they did recover more of Stark's stolen technology - so that's moving forward. I was more curious as to why Peggy thought Jarvis would crack, enough that she felt the need to sacrifice herself. It highlighted the fact that she still doesn't quite trust him.

Coach had the best lines tonight:
"I got these in seventh grade and I love them - stop asking questions."
"Here comes me!"

Twenty minutes in, and the pilot has me hooked!

I know - the Norse point of view is nothing if not brimstone heavy. It's been a little while since I saw the first movie, but I thought there was no reason to throw busses till that guardian showed up. He was defeated mentally when he got to Mjolnir, but he still beat up everyone.

Goran Visnjic says "whdll yhv?"

That's a fair point, though I thought it was important for the audience to see how Thor becomes a better demigod. Otherwise, he's just an immortal Iron Man (ugh). I thought the second one got melodramatic/operatic, which rang too much like every other comic book movie.

I must disagree. The first Thor was more honest about itself.

I really enjoyed the first Captain America movie too - you are not alone! You are also not alone in finding out that people you know hated it either. I don't get it - it was a period origin story that had camp, flair, and a pitch-perfect uncomfortable musical number!

And that is why Game of Thrones is prestige. Sexposition.

I say any show that uses a "First rule of Fight Club…" or "What happens in Vegas…" variation immediately fails to be prestige. It's my arbitrary guideline, and I am in no way going to defend it.

*Eyes Craig Stephen Tower dubiously*

And I think Jeff Daniels won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of salt-of-the-earth-Everyman Will McAvoy.

"Still?" There's only been one Avengers movie so far - Age of Ultron isn't even out yet!

In the beginning of the film, they're throwing the Nazi's out of the club. By the end - with the continued rise of the party - we see they're allowed to stay. That's why it's so powerful for me. We know that it's not going to stop at a simple admittance.

On her father's living room sofa, no less!

True - Donald O'Connor will Make you Laugh!

I watch this movie every Christmas - it's my tradition!
The throwaway lines make this movie wonderful, like in the opening where the lettuce starts shouting, "Help! Help, I'm being stolen! Help me!"

Because when you don't like what someone says, you remove your sunglasses and lob them as hard as you can that individual - hence the vernacular "throwing shade."

Really? I thought the editing of "Easy Street" made it look really bad - clearly Tim Curry had a dance/stunt double.

Nothing says "I get you, babe" like a rousing rendition of "Two Ladies!"
