ah Petter, he could’ve done so much more I always felt. Prodigiously talented indeed, I just felt he was too inconsistent. Was he in Subaru in 04-05?

Oh so they used them to defend ground emplacements then? Fair enough. I imagine the principle is the same. So, is using a CIWS normal to protect a ground base?
Isn’t that a lot bigger though?
urgh, as long as none of those IS bastards get that idea! That’ll definitely be the last thing I’d want
Without a doubt. He’s one of the titanic motorsport figures. I have no qualms of speaking about him alongside luminaries such as Fangio, Clark, etc. Loeb is the Schumacher of modern WRC in his sustained period of dominance (you could even put it the other way round!). The man is a driving god. I can’t praise him…
my comment hadn’t seemed to go through but I agree. Makes sense if the rear is anything like the littany of cooling fans the previous version had
Funny, I was reading this earlier today (http://m.ndtv.com/india-news/ins…) when I wondered if Tyler would have anything naval related on FA.
hahaha, indeed
Well from the tone of your earlier comment I assumed you must’ve done it yourself. God those gloves tend to be fairly heavy duty too.
well then it seems rather excellent to me. Especially if someone had the brilliant idea to mount it on the bed of a truck!
any chance it’s a TDi?
Oh I can only imagine. What with the wind and all that fabric on it’s own it must weigh a ton. Still I imagine sailors keep getting taught the techniques to put them up and take them down as being essential to the notion of being a seaman.
Ah right, it wasn’t going to be like a hoist-the-flags-a-la-Pirates-of-the-Caribbean these days but it makes sense for the day to day work
Tyler did you ever mention in any of your articles a market for modular kit such as SeaRAM? From what I understand it can pretty much be bolted on in a relatively ad hoc manner (as these things go). Are there more such devices? Sticking to the principle that 80% capability at 60% cost is better than 100% at 100+%…
While I’m no eco-warrior I absolutely appreciate the use of hybrid tech on war machines. Part of me is glad that it cuts down on fuel usage and at the same time if it increases time on station/between refuelling (ie the primary role) then all the better.
I find the suggestion of them going semi-independent a la Brawn quite interesting. Though it’s unlikely That experiment will ever quite repeat itself what with it’s stunning outcome.
what a douche-canoe
