We, in Southern California, had a half day then a full day of rain.  We all crashed our cars and just generally behaved like idiots who had never seen weather before.  I don’t think I could live any where else.  I feel like a weaker version of the species when people talk about living and working in real weather.

This story was not reported as if the disappearance had anything to do with Costa Rica. It was simply... reported.

Timely remind that we can delude ourselves as much as we want, arguing over semantics, but at the end of the day, every modern State in the Middle East is an opressive theocracy - including the US beloved Israel. The only difference is the degree and the effort to disguise it as a “democracy”.

Waiting for the day when I never see an image of this rainbow snow cone tattooed rapist clown face again, the filthy piece of shit. All the punches forever.

I gave it a go with a Republican once. Really tried. In the end, I had to admit that anyone who is okay with those policies (and they were not even close, then, to what they are now) is just not a good person. And in the end it turned out that he wasn’t.

I’m late to this party. Oh well.

Always good to know what the other half are doing.

Exams are terrible. I’ve been out of law school for a while now (I work in a law-adjacent field) and I still recall the misery of the whole process.

I hate that people dye their pets.  Ugh.

I’m sorry you’re going through a tough time. I think as an outsider, it’s hard to differentiate between parents who are doing this for their own need vs their child’s needs. There’s an article in the Atlantic about parents coming to kids schools for lunch time and physically feeding their capable children—this seems

I think the point is that people didn’t show up for Trayvon or Sandra the way they showed up for the Women’s March.

I’m willing to learn: give me an example of one country that enforces sharia where women have equality and gays aren’t executed or persecuted?

The Chicago Dyke March didn't single out Jewish marchers for a litmus test; a couple of marchers were asked to leave because they were waving a rainbow Israeli flag and interrupting pro-Palestinian chants. That's not to say that there isn't any antisemitism on the Left, but there's also a lot more dishonesty and

This was a great explanation. Many thanks! And yeah, my stepdad actually went to high school with Mike Pence and has legitimately hated him for nearly his entire life. What’s good, Columbus IN

Well ... yeah.

This^^. I have a close friend who KNOWS that I spent a significant amount of time hitting the pavement to canvass for what was our lone democratic senator (after last night we are stuck with two republican assholes instead). We’ve had many discussions about the state of this country and have been in agreement about

Right, which is why I pegged any real change as at least a generation away. Someone else in the comments posted that white voters 30-44 voted Dem-Rep on a 49-48 ratio. If all white older people voted that way, Democrats would win constantly. And 20 years from now, Millenials will be in their mid 30s to mid 50s.

Yep. Even if some of these bitches have “soured on Trump,” that doesn’t mean that they’re leaving the GOP and heading over to the Dems. Trump wasn’t on the ballot yesterday. Plenty of white women make that fucked up distinction between “the GOP” and Trump. They may not like Trump (and make no mistake tons of them like

Yep. Quit pretending that these racist cunts are in the minority or changing their minds. They’ve picked their pony, and that pony keeps winning thanks to them.

In the long run, Republicans have a white person problem; there are less and less of them, and that’s the vast majority of their voting base. I know that the “demographics is destiny” shit hasn’t come to fruition yet, but I genuinely think it will by the next generation.
