That’s the thing though. The anti gun side refuses to compromise and thus the pro gun side digs in deeper. Everything I see proposed only satisfies those on the anti-gun side by bans and such. Why would any pro-gun person be ok with that when there is no compromise? I’d vote for universal backround checks and 3 day…

I applied for the astronaut program because astronaut, but I mean who wouldn’t. In terms of realistic jobs, definitely. However, its a bit tough to rationalize with unknown and constantly changing budget. You are correct though - they just want talent and people who can execute.
Scalia also wrote that regulating gun ownership for the public good is a OK. The ban on automatic weapons still stands.
As a point of comparison, consider how smoking restrictions have evolved. I recall way back when they were first being implemented anti-smoking advocates insisted that all they wanted was non-smoking sections in restaurants, airplanes, etc. They got that, and then they started lobbying for more. And more.
