If it were me, hearing your apology as your wrote it would be really nice.  I probably wouldn’t want to hang out, though.  I think the apology is enough. I agree with your first paragraph, 2nd paragraph: all the big celebrities do the commercials in Asia. You can get upwards of 1 million for one day of work and there’s a low risk of it ever being seen in the west. Easy, profitable work and they all do it.
