It's a much weirder movie than you would expect of this kind of movie.

I though the PM saw Natalie as falling for the President for real, and had her reassigned for his own selfish reasons. She was clueless, and too low on the totem pole to question it (and too thin of a character to get upset over being blamed for the President’s creepiness).
