Oh, I don’t think that at all. The majority of what Trump and his strange crew of sycophants say in public is not strategic or is extremely bad strategy to be generous. But, the Stormy Daniels scandal?

I don’t know. This seems straight out of Trump’s media playbook- overwhelm the airwaves with more and more outrageous statements, including those that are unhelpful and then promptly deny/claim opposite- and outrage re-ensues, rinse and repeat until it is all just a pile of indecipherable noise.

Of course they knew. If I had to guess, they probably discussed it and maybe even advised not hiring Porter, but were overruled by Trump.
