I don’t mean to pile on here, but okay, I’m joining the pile. This woman has been married to a sociopath for 25+ years. Who knows what kind of abuse, gaslighting, and stress she’s had to put up with over this period? But hey, let’s judge her on some off-hand remark she may not even have made upon having the truth

This whole article is a super-shitty thing to write, but whoever wrote that headline especially should be fired. Into the sun.

How was she supposed to react to being told her husband is a serial killer? She probably went into shock when they started showing her photographic evidence of his crimes. Honestly, this would be more devastating than if they had knocked on the door and told her he was dead.

Y’all should feel ashamed for this article.

This is a shitty article.

Agreed.  Also, as someone on the spectrum, I doubt I’d ever give the response that people think is “appropriate.”  Not saying she is; just saying that judging people on their snap responses during a tragedy is pretty awful IMO.

Why are we reporting on what she said, this seems and feels targeted to turn her into some sort of villain here. All reporting on this will do and using that as a headline is make her even more of a target for the public. This is cruel.

JFC give that poor woman some time process what happened. It’s pretty gross demanding she has the reaction you deem appropriate right away.

I can’t say I would say anything much doesn’t to the press if I were in her shoes. What do you expect from her? Unless it comes out she somehow assisted or was aware of the crimes, just let her grieve and process the way she needs to

why does this author seem more upset about the wife not knowing than you know, the man murdering all those people....? good grief, y’all. unless we find out otherwise, she’s a victim too.

This feels kind of needlessly shitty and mean. How do you want a person to react to the news that their spouse is a serial killer?

It’s one of those terms that does absolutely nothing to change the material reality of the person being described, but makes the person using it feel better.

As a former homeless person kicked out of my house for being gay at 17, I hope you feel better about your white straight privilege with “unhoused”, a term that sanitizes reality for your sheltered comfort, one thay sweeps the issue under the rug...in your home, not house.

“... the laptop thing is old.”

whew. I also commend her, but idk if I could keep playing into this if my child used me for right wing entertainment purposes rather than actually caring about what I said.

Imagine if this white power dickbag was your child.

Online sleuths need to do everyone a favor and go offline for a long time.

It’s possible it’s a hoax. It’s also possible it’s not. The fact police aren’t saying anything doesn’t tell us anything other than that they don’t want to bias an investigation.

I hope she recovers from her ordeal quickly, and avoids the Internet for the next six months. People can be utter bastards.

We have a sick entertainment obsession with missing and murdered women. It’s a morbid spectator sport. All women deserve better than to be true crime fodder just to get resources. Unfortunately, widespread attention is tied to the police taking missing women seriously. Otherwise, this should never have been up to the
