(bong hit) Dude, like, what if colors are different for different people?

You mean people who see a black and blue dress can’t color-correct an underexposed image in their mind.

As someone in their late forties reading this and learning about all of this labelling, that was my thought too.

This has some religious roots too, although it probably even predates organized Christianity.

Of course men care. What planet do you live on? All this nonsense is men driving what women should look like and how they should behave in order to be the “perfect woman.” Have you never once read the comment from men on literally anything that a woman posts on social media?

You’re making a distinction that doesn’t really matter. Traditional Wife. Cool Girl. Pick Me Girl. Anti-Pick-Me Girl. Mommy type. Career Girl. Girl Boss. Party Girl.

There is no anti pick me. These are all just regular pick-me types, the common theme being, “hey guys! I’m not like those other girls! Look at me!”

Fuck. The internet is so exhausting sometimes...

Thank you for saying this. Did anyone expect the survivors' families to feel and say anything different? Regardless of anything else, they're entitled to what they feel even if you pinky swear on a murder's behalf.

I think the point is they’re unreasonable for claiming she’ll kill again. I think the families should be honest and say what they mean: that what she did was so bad she doesn’t deserve to get out. Rather than saying she poses a threat if she’s released, which it’s pretty clear she doesn’t.

I mean, if there’s one tiny upside to that dumb Supreme Court ruling, it’s that bigoted businesses are voluntarily putting “I’m a giant asshole, don’t spend your money here” signs up in their windows.

Well, this pathetic excuse for a human being certainly made sure no doxxing was required here, so looking forward to the the absolutely deserved consequences.....

This is the only comment anyone needs to read on this article, honestly. Exactly right.

What’s so stupid about this, is that she wants to ban people who use they/them pronouns (not necessarily trans people) but how would she even know unless she asks everyone who comes through her door what pronouns they use? And doesn’t that go against what people like this think? It’s like this woman thinks that

Respectfully, this piece is in very poor taste. I actually agree with the general premise of it: I was a public defender for the first four years of my career. The prison system is very corrupt, and I have long advocated for there to be an age cut off for people who no longer pose a threat to society to be released.

By that rational, victims should also be excluded from the process of determining the appropriate punishment or penalty for trespasses against them.

people shouldn’t be in prison for 53 years for basically anything.

I remember that summer very well. It was terrifying and I don’t care how much progress she made in prison, what she did to Rosemary LaBianca should have been enough to deny her parole forever.

I never know what to make of these scenarios. In my head I know our penal system is mostly broken and dumb. In my heart I know if a loved one was murdered I’d spend the rest of my life showing up to the parole hearings of their killer, spitting venom.
