Any one who isn’t as privileged as Holmes wouldn’t have been able to participate in a glowing NY Times profile while awaiting the start of an 11 year prison sentence, they would have been taken straight from the courtroom to prison upon being sentenced. The excerpt you included here is GOLD because in Bad Blood (which is excellent, I am currently reading it) the author states over and over how people (read: men in power) were charmed by her, heavily implying that it was her looks and charisma as opposed to her actual smarts which got here to where she was.
