However, we didn’t account for the FACT that our speedometer overstates the actual speed of the vehicle, which is why our system turned itself off during a test that would determine the speed with a device NOT connected to the speedometer.

Honestly, I don’t quite “get” the S65. The S class is a supremely capable car and can be very fast, but its target demographic seem to be people who want to ride in comfort. However, it is not a sports sedan. Isn’t a sporty S class just a less-luxurious S class that is still comparatively bad at being a sports car?

No, they are displaying a speed higher than what you are actually doing. That is what conservative means in this scenario. By law, speedos may never display a speed lower than your actual speed, so erring on the safe side means calibrating the speedo to measure the speed as slightly faster than your real speed.

It’s not instantaneous, but it can be seamless, without interrupting torque transmission from the engine to the wheels. At no point during the shift both clutches need to be open simultaneously, rather, they both slip during transition between gears. That way, the car can continue to accelerate while shifting gears.

WHY WOULD A PLANT EVOLVE TO PRODUCE THIS??

Not so sure about the looks. It’s got the nice proportions of a classic sports coupé, but like most contemporary BMWs, it’s much too busy for my tastes. From what I can see so far, the Supra could be the more handsome of the siblings. Both the Alpine and the Boxster are, I think, better designs, too.

What happened there at the front? Its grille is all overstretched!

The technology is cool. What this guy is using it for is very much not.

What a dick move. The 2 hr limit is there to keep parking spaces available for people with short term affairs. Trying to get around it like this instead of getting appropriate parking is egotism at its finest.

To alleviate constipation, maybe?

For Waymo, scaling down to just one person monitoring the system was likely seemingly justified by the amount of testing the system had been through, and a necessary step toward a truly driverless system which could manage itself on the road.

“Bolide” is used in German automotive press parlance to refer to a high-perfomance-something. PS-Bolide is thus a slightly redundant way to refer to the high-horsepower car. duurtlang had it right.

Since It’s from a professional dealer and not a private sale, can’t the buyer hold the dealer liable for misrepresenting the state of the car?

I don’t think the target audience cares. It’s only in English that the name sounds like a pun.

Jason, if you’re into bargain basement cars, have you looked at Dacia? Europe’s cheapest modern cars, passing all safety and emissions regulations and looking like regular cars, starting at 7000 EUR.

The term “illegal” does not imply a crime. Not all things that are illegal are a crime. The word for somebody who has committed a crime is “criminal“.

Most people have most assuredly not committed a crime in their past. Seriously.

How is calling someone an illegal “defining the total sum of their existence as a crime”?

Being down 13% while the market is down 15% means they are actually gaining market share. Growing sales on absolute terms is virtually impossible to do when the market is shrinking that quickly.

You could fly in those rough - and-tumble military planes. Or you just take a comfy A319 commercial airliner from New Zealand, no rockets necessary.
