I’m a HUGE fan of everything having a dedicated place to live. I don’t have to go looking for things, and it’s easier to tidy up. I prefer pretty boxes, dedicated drawers; however my kids have ADHD and that doesn’t work for them, so in their rooms things are sorted in clear bins or wire baskets so they can *see* where

I just do a little each day so that I only have to deep clean a couple of times a year. One day is sweep and vac, one day dust, one day wet mop. That way I never spend more than 10 minutes or so cleaning. My clothes always go in the hamper at the end of the day, and immediately put away when I do laundry (bc I hate

Congrats on your husband’s vaccination! The food looks delicious as always, and the kitties are adorable 😍

Other than some lamb loin chops which are proving to be a new favorite of the Horde, this week has been pedestrian at best. That being said, I do have a duck ready to go for Easter.

About damn time you caught a break.

One of my Hordelings is obsessed with waffles. I hate waffles. Always have. BUT! I found a mini waffle maker this week so I got it for him and he has been in heaven. Apparently I make excellent waffles lol. Our only other real culinary excursion was lamb chops which were very nicely prepared by Hordeling the Second.

It's sooo yummy. It's very similar to barley, another favorite of mine.

It was a THING this week! My bestie and I both could not be bothered to care about anything. I think it's in part bc we hit one year in quarantine on the 12th and nothing much has changed for us.

I reorganized my freezer and put actual dates on the things therein. It's something that would have taken all of 5 minutes in the before times but I'm so exhausted I could cry every day and I don't really ever cry. Oh and I did a (sad little) workout almost every day this week. I have an appointment for May 2 for my

This was a weak week cookery-wise because of work and general ennui, but I did manage to teach one of the Hordelings to make lamb chops with a butter/wine/garlic reduction and convinced the other Hordeling to eat farrow with mushrooms.

OMG congratulations!!!!

I made hummus for the first time in ages and snacked on it all week. It’s just sooooo yummy. My black beans have become such a staple that my soup-hating child requested black bean soup(!) and devoured 3 of the 4 servings I made. I used the rest of the beans in some repurposed ground turkey that I turned into

Yup. We had breakout HR sessions based on survey results and HR was so alarmed at what multiple women communicated in the sessions that they launched an investigation...that completely exonerated the men who’d explicitly been called out. Meanwhile some of us got dinged for our “attitude”. I had to go full malicious

The Troublemakers is a whole album cover

I've been in an 800sf apt with two 13 yo boys for close to a year. Thank dog they have their own rooms. I installed new knobs with locks on all of the br doors bc some people cannot remember to knock.

It’s soooo good. I use a touch of bacon grease to cook the onions, then add the beans, oregano and about a half cup of chicken stock. Simmer for 20 minutes and it's utter perfection. Toss the shrimps cooked however you like them and nom. For sides I do whatever veg is at hand, and either bread, yellow rice or toasted

Right?!?!?! And yet...😒

Gin martini, and about to start up some black beans and shrimp for dinner.

I have the same issue. I've found they're great added to yukon gold mashed potatoes.

This week has been extremely random but successful on the food front. Highlights - I made a cauliflower potato curry and a Goan pork vindaloo that came out really well, roasted brussel sprouts with applewood smoked bacon to go with some steaks, dragged out the air fryer lid to cook a squash medley that reminded me I
