I don’t like it when fans “demand” that some celebrity say something or stand up for their causes. It’s creepy and weird. They don’t owe you that. Also, once you “demand” it, then it becomes performative, even if it’s how they truly feel.

It isn’t harmless. That’s why she needed medical care. I don’t think it’s harmful to anyone else.

I remember when Taylor was lambasted for not publicly supporting Kesha, when she had already given her over $100k and shown support privately. No one would have known except that Kesha’s mom expressed her gratitude. I hate this idea that telling us what we want to hear is more important than showing care for the affect…

I think people forget that not everyone has the same level of engagement with social media or the news and that many people’s first response to hearing distressing information about a friend or former coworker may not be to address it in a public forum.

It’s a huge compliment to her to suggest that she was pre-recorded. The performance wasn’t perfect, which is what made it incredible.

She was also very respectful to the Marine escort with her personal acknowledgement to him. Very cool and classy.

I actually enjoyed her performance. Her golden dove of peace pin was a really nice touch. Also, she looked in awe of everything, which I especially loved and which humanized her for me. And her strong voice, I thought, was perfect for the song. And I’m not a Lady Gaga fan!

I love how people wrote about this look like she got dressed in the dark and had no idea how she looked. Honey. Wearing dramatic things is what she does. What would be weird is if she showed up in jeans and a t-shirt. Making fun of her outfits is just lazy. Try harder.
