As stupid as the Electoral College is, the fact that it involved “electors” and isn’t just a rote assignment of the number of votes for the winner of the state’s vote is 100x more idiotic.

If they were being honest (lol), the republicans would change their name to Projectionist Party, or Projection-icans. They really REALLY lean on projecting their crimes and corruption. Any crime Trump decries is certainly one he has perpetrated, except successful election fraud.

I can’t even imagine George W. Bush doing this and I hate that asshole. This shit just wasn’t done before. Not even by the worst of the worst. Or rather, the people we used to think of as the worst. We really had no idea.

Politico did an article about the various ways they surmised he might try to pull this off, and that was one of the ways they mentioned. The article interviewed several lawyers, who also spoke as to why this wouldn’t work:

What’s odd as he wasn’t particularly happy being president. It was too much work. He avoided doing presidential work as much as possible.
