It was a co-production with Sky so it's not like Showtime was on the hook for the full budget. I wonder if they'd only let Logan run one series at a time and he REALLY wanted to do the Just Kids adaptation…

The back half of the season seemed rather hastily revised to offer some closure. I think they were cancelled halfway through production and Logan is just trying maintain a good relationship with Showtime. I wouldn't be surprised to see him running a new series for them in 2017…
