Worked from home for over 2 years during COVID during which the company acknowledged there was no reduction in productivity but in June 2021 they started making us go back one day a week, then later 2 days. I left for a fully remote job. Couldn’t be happier. Now I can live literally anywhere I want, there’s no commute

This is such bullshit. It’s nothing more than execs wanting to get back to the good ol’ days of being able to lord over their minions to feed their superiority complex.

the shift will promote “the collaboration, relationships, and culture necessary for employees to do their best work.”

Funny thing is, my job works closely with some of these big name tech companies. Any time we have a big project for a week on them we are given exceptions to fully WFH since we get so much more work done from there.

I’d love to get some of that sweet board member money, but you have to have money and influence to get those positions.  And if I had the money, I wouldn’t need the job as a board member.

And someone who is a CEO of multiple companies at the same time is even more worthless, as they aren’t being an effective CEO of any of the companies.

This is a point I always bring up as well. Every company has (or should have) a process for dealing with employees whose performance is not up to snuff, and if it doesn’t then that’s a systemic problem that needs to be corrected.

Thing is, when the only metric is butts-in-seats, it’s a lot easier for people like the previous commenter to cover up how much work they’re not doing vs. goofing off with their work pals.

For me, the absolute last thing I want is work friends. You’re lucky I bother to learn your name.

Exactly! Deep into quarantine my team was having Zoom happy hour, laughing over drinks and having an awesome time.

Elon is a classic micromanager, and that’s why he wants people in the office. MY job is 50/50 (I administer accounts, but also a lot of the hardware in my facility), so I can’t work from home.

/hurriedly writes Terminator reboot, where Skynet is your manager.

You know, if this keeps up, I might start to think that Elon is kind of an asshole!

Wait, wait, wait. You’re telling me that a billionaire, who can afford to buy and pay for absolutely anything his heart desires including the best childcare in the world, doesn’t see why working from home is beneficial to some of us? Is this the same guy who tweets constantly about plummeting birth rates and how the

Says someone who didn’t pay his office rent.

  1. They want to track your performance and think you don’t work hard remotely.. I work so much harder at home its incredible. Just see what JPM is doing...

A warning for anyone working at or thinking about working at JPMorgan Chase & Co.

My WFH days are when I get the most work done. This week is one of my busiest weeks of the year, my boss told me to stay home so I can get more done. Trust your workers, Elon. If you can't trust them from home, either they have deeper issues, or you do.

This is what someone on the wrong side of 20 year office lease might say.

This guy is fucking unhinged.

Musk is a psychopath that is fully convinced he is now a God and center of the universe.
