Excellent point. What these homeschooling parents are doing is PARENTING. What parents are “supposed” to be doing during the hours the kids aren’t in school, learning to follow rules from adult non-parents, learning that they don’t always get an adult’s focused attention 100% of the time, etc.

I have a tough time believing this is possible, though I don’t know where you’re located. Here in Michigan, a teacher has to be certified in a specific area — chemistry, social sciences, even health — in order to qualify for those teaching positions in a school.

There’s a difference between knowing something and being able to effectively teach it to others.

Exactly. It would be so less of a dramatic thing if these people just stayed in their seats and ignored her. But these huge men — non-security men — rushing over to physically impose their will upon these women, it just makes me nauseous.

Conversely, though, if you’re going to borrow a book, fucking READ IT. Otherwise, you’ve just taken someone’s property and have it sitting around your house, when they could have lent it to someone else or reread it.

But my low level OCD likes to have the full set of books properly ordered on the shelf!
