The theme of her storyline in this episode might have been about her habitually quitting things too early, but it also really highlights how she's been sticking with Gretchen through all these storms. That doesn't look like a quitter to me.

I love this show, but I can't argue with this observation.

I think the idea is that Jimmy is somewhat controlling, yes, but mostly missguided and cluessless, which I happen to find pretty accurate, even from the perspective of someone who isn't depressed.

without any expectations of immediate and/or lasting results though. It can be helpful in any given moment, but it's not a "fix".

I was convinced Edgar was supposed to be Criss Angel before the show cleared it up.

It's preposterous to think that depression can be fixed by a day of fun activites. The show makes no bones about it. I don't see how that would translate to "There's absolutely nothing I can do about it" though. There's a whole world between "fixing" a problem and doing nothing about it at all - it's called coping,

Finger's crossed you'll find a good replacement soon. Congrats on staying on top of these developments and reacting fast! Mindfulness can't prevent all problems, but it's a good foundation to work with.

This is the most incoheren comment I've read on this site in a long time. I can't even argue with it because you've utterly failed failed to communicate your point. You can argue with Waffles' points, I guess, but at least she usually has some.

[nevermind, I hadn't read the source material and wrote something that was overly optimistic]

I hope you're right, because I want these crazy kids to make it work, but generally speaking…. the ego always takes a hit when you get cheated on, whether you care particularly deeply about the other person or not, so there's always enough to lose to warrant a smug grin of relief.

Nah.

I almost audibly cheered when I read that headline, and I don't even care that much for Jennifer Lawrence. But I guess I would have to actively dislike her to want her to be in that sort of drivel. (For what it's worth, I read the blurb, and a review, but not the book itself, so it's probably still unfair. So what.

And what a pity that is. Would be something else, wouldn't it?

And he's not the wealthy one and goes mad for fairly more tangible reasons than people usually do in this kind of thing, so yeah, that one would be a stretch.

There's something fundamentally unsettling about masks, no matter what they're supposed to represent. If you meet People wearing masks in any context where you wouldn't expect them to, that's going to raise Alarm bells. People who don't want to be recognized are rarely up to something good. Oh my sweet summer child….

As a fellow bookish former 14 year old girl, I agree with the Woohoo! Sounds very promising.

If that's indeed the epitome of Franzen's sense of humor, as the reviewers seems to suggest, I don't feel all that bad about not giving it much credit after all.

I should have been a pair of ragged claws, scuttling across the floors of silent seas.

Sidse Babett Knudsen for Septa Lemore.
(But only if Septa Lemore turns out to be a significant person. I know they cut that storyline last season, but if the Kingsmoot's back on the table, I figure anything goes).
