Right?! What the fuck? How can someone going to a party a year after a gang rape be used against them? So, she wasn’t destroyed enough to stop attempting to have a normal life so fuck her and her case? This asshole.

Persky made a controversial evidentiary ruling which allowed the jury to view seven photographs of the alleged victim “partying about a year or so after the alleged gang rape. In the photos, she is scantily clad, wearing a garter belt and what appear to be fishnet stockings.”
“It has nothing to do with her sexuality.”
...and according to the first posted link, over the course of TEN FUCKING YEARS.
Also, he was convicted of 12 charges and only gets 18 years in jail for abusing those poor children??????
That can certainly be considered child abuse, but it no longer counts as a crime against the dog.
On a related note, here’s the most fucked up thing I’ve read in a long while. I’m reading Governor Bradford’s diary of the first twenty years of life in the Plymouth colony, and late in the book he relates one episode in which a teenage boy was caught sodomizing a farm animal. He eventually confessed to relations with…
2016 America: Where a 12-year old boy is shot and killed by the police for playing with a toy and it’s his fault because he should have “known” that people would see him as a threat, while a full-grown adult who rapes an unconscious woman and tries to flee should only have to endure a couple months of jail because…
They should be prosecuted as rape (itself a violent crime) + some of other assault charge (to account for choking, hitting, threats of violence with a weapon, etc.). Having degrees like “kind of rape” and “legitimate rape” contributes to this idea so may people have that it’s not “really” rape unless there’s a gun…
Apparently there is this idea that raping someone isn’t inherently violent in itself. Like a hard dick jammed inside someone repeatedly against their will somehow isn’t violent? Mind boggling.
So a woman in Washington says no, stop, I don’t want to do this, stop, you’re raping me, and he rapes her anyway and that counts as only third degree rape? Just, wow.

Note to self: become a hobbyist beekeeper so I can write memoir about the life lessons it taught me titled “Bitch, I might bee”
Hey, be fair to the guy. He’s about to get the first woman in US history elected president, right after he assured our first black president a second term. If he lives long enough to run again, we’ll have a gay Muslim socialist in the White House. #GlassCeilingBreaker
Our daughter was two when Obama was first elected, and the possibility of this is making me so excited I can’t stand it. Her whole childhood will be so much different from mine in this regard, all of her expectations will be different, and I could just plotz.
Are we allowed to be excited yet? I have a two year old daughter and this is just such a huge thing for her generation. She gets to grow up knowing you don’t have to be a white male to be president.
