There are two reasons for a boost gauge: making sure your boost controller is giving you the boost you intended, and making sure you aren’t overboosting due to an issue. Neither of those really apply to a supercharged setup though.

Yes, it’s probably the best F1 related book I’ve read. I’ve also read Mark Webber’s book, Ross Brawn’s (also quite good), and James Allen’s Michael Schumacher book. But hard to beat Adrian Newey who has been on a number of different great teams, while they were great, over such a long period.
