For $47mill, I would pay IHHS to crash one OEM welded and one chemically bonded roof and see if there is any determinable difference. I would really really like to see the results.

If it was a fixed roof coupe I think I’d be more excited about it. This seems like an attempt to please too many people and in the process they added weight and complexity. Not to say it won’t be an awesome car...I would just rather have the ragtop.

I’ve owned 3 BMWs so I’m saying this with some regret. I wouldn’t say all of BMW has gone soft, but most models are getting softer. The “real” BMWs left (IMHO) are the 2 series, M2, M3, and M4. The 3 series has tragically gotten a bit soft with the F30 platform. I can no longer feel the paint stripes on a dashed white
