Ground Control

Ground Control

For my money, still one of the three or four best PC tactical games ever made. It is just extraordinarily good.

This is absolutely brilliant. One of the absolutely best strategy games ever made and absolutely astonishing AI. The AI doesn't just work, it actually convincingly behaves differently according to the personality of the different AI chip units.

One of the greatest RPGs ever made. As for that cliffhanger ending, the game's creator has said they will try to do the second game at some point if the rights situation allows. If not, he'll spill the beans on what was supposed to happen. I think he's set a deadline of 2020 for that.

Excellent game. And worth mentioning that some of its devs (appalled by the EA game) are working on a 'spiritual sequel' called Satellite Reign, for release at the end of 2014.

First-person mode was only in Cataclysm, which they're not re-releasing (the source code is gone forever, apparently). HW1 and 2 didn't have it. They might be able to add it though.

There isn't much consistency of controls in the DA games, even between them. DA:O was pretty different to DA2, and DA:I is apparently going to be different to them both (the overhead combat view, for example, was only in the PC version of DA:O, not the console one).

Just double-checked. Apparently it was originally 'late 2014' but this has fallen back to 'early 2015' now.

Yes, it's a prequel. I'm pretty certain the planet is going to be Kharak and it's going to be about the various kiith competing to salvage the various wrecks they've found in the desert. HARDWARE: SHIPBREAKERS originally looked almost exactly the opening cinematic to HOMEWORLD (where one of the kiith finds the

Well, the planet is clearly going to be renamed Kharak, the planet from the original HOMEWORLD, so that will tie in with the plot and lore (and possibly characters; maybe Karan S'Jet is a young tech working for one of the salvage companies?). There'll also be some sort of narrative, likely culminating with the

As far as apologising for COLONIAL MARINES goes, getting the HOMEWORLD licence, giving it back to the people who made the original and funding them to make a new game (or at least turning a promising existing game into one in the same franchise) whilst getting both 'pure' and remade versions of the original games back

It WAS going to be F2P. I think that now they're probably go SP with a strong MP component instead. You can't really make HARDWARE into a HOMEWORLD prequel without a narrative of some kind.

I'm pretty sure Sandal and Bodahn will be in it in their traditional roles. At the end of DA2 they say they are off to Orlais to work for the queen and apparently DA3 will be largely set in and around Orlais.

There are no orcs in the DRAGON AGE games.

I can't remember where I heard this - Google's not turning anything up - but IIRC the templar have split in DA3 due to the events of DA2. Some want a return to the previous situation of keeping mages under control in Circles with templars keeping an eye on them, but a lot of them want to wipe all mages out altogether.

Yes.

Not to mention Project: Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numera (though that might have gotten kicked back to 2015). Also the Berlin expansion for Shadowrun Returns. I've got a feeling Wasteland 2 is also going to miss December and fall back to the spring.

It should be noted there are significant differences bettween DA:O on PC and on console. If possible, play DA:O on PC as the graphics and control/combat options are vastly superior.
