I know that, as you say, Marvel’s stock is not at its highest point right now. But to be honest, the only MCU show they’ve put out that I outright disliked was Secret Invasion. All the others have at least hit “that wasn’t terrible” for me, and there’s been some legitimately top-tier stuff like Loki S2 and (most of)

I don’t see how they make Young Avengers work given how long it takes them to make these movies once they’re announced. Ms. Marvel, Ant Girl and Hawkeye 2.0 will be in their early thirties by the time the movie comes out.

The thing about that show was the writing itself, like the actual dialogue, was VERY good. The plotting, narrative, conflict, tension, characterizations and resolution were all what was terrible. But there really was some of the best mcu talking moments of any show or movie. Which made it incredibly frustrating to

Right on the timing. They demonstrated the Nat/Syd connection with the omelette. It’s hard to make friends as an adult but I feel like when you do it’s swift and powerful. There’s real love between them, not least fueled by being caught in the storm of Carmy together.

bring back Angie Tribeca, dammit!

at this point do people really care? Feels like its equivalent to hassling George R.R. about finishing the next GoT novel.  move on, people!

I forget there is a plot half the time while watching this show, since it mostly serves to give the actors time to shine. I seriously don’t think Jamie Lee Curtis has ever been better in anything than she has been on the Bear. The guest stars this show corrals is truly impressive. Hell, it may be one of John Cena’s

That’s not what The Bear is about.

I was trying to explain the brief ringtone goldrush to my kids a few days ago ..they did not get it.

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen on the internets today (tho it’s still early): Someone who was proudly certain for 35 years that they *understood* the plot engine of “Weekend at Bernie’s”.... and then, *today*, they had it explained to them.

Actually, what happened was that the hitman called when he arrived at the dock on a payphone, looking for directions to the beach house, and Bernie answers the phone later, so the answering machine had already picked up and started recording. Bernie thinks the hitman is coming to kill the two guys, so give directions

Skinamarink in there too. It was terrible but the stuff they did with the budget was relatively impressive

Okay, that’s fair.  Maybe, to paraphrase a PJ O’Rourke line: qualms within normal parameters.

Do you not get that the ability to speak is a HUGE fucking part of the “work”? It’s basically the entire job. He’s got to be able to communicate effectively with staff, Congress, other world leaders, and the American people, making the case for what he wants to do and see happen.

And even if he was just a guy who’s

LOL ok bud.

Admittedly yes, it was because of “Trump bad” but in 2020 everybody was in lockdown and mad about it. Fucked up as it sounds, I think COVID helped Biden win 2020 more than any other bad thing Trump did in office. That all aside though, the biggest problem Biden faces is recency bias. People who are mad about the

Anyone else vote for more When Romance Met Comedy?

I find some of this response confusing. So *are* you making money on streaming platforms and self-hosting? Do you have the metrics to demonstrate that your work is actually being seen? If so that’s obviously great! But what does that have to do with Holofcener and her peers? And are you not a peer? Am I missing

Cue David Byrne chopping his forearm.

I liked Temple of Doom more than Last Crusade when I was a kid, but within a few years I started to like Last Crusade more, to the point that it’s actually the Indy movie I enjoy watching the most. (I’m not going to say it’s “better” than Raiders, mainly because saying one piece of art is “better” than another is
