when i saw this on twitter i thought it was ben dreyfuss because he’s also a weird little freak. didn’t realize richard was, too.

furiosa is excellent. saw it opening night with a full imax crowd and it rocked. i guess i’d say try to see it sooner than later because who knows how long it’ll be in premium format.

i also think it’s worth considering that MAYBE 2019 itself was a fluke year and we’ll never see anything like that again.

is VG the videogame?

it’s also one of those things where...when they ACTUALLY do that in a narrative it’s never satisfying, so it makes me wonder why so many jump to that and act like it’s ‘better’.

i sat in on a fantasy baseball draft once and it was, by far, the nerdiest thing i’ve ever seen. it was incredibly eye-opening.

yeah i don’t buy that it’s a financial thing at all. people always find money to go to the movies. the problem is: people don’t like going to the movies.

haha taylor swift fans showed out in DROVES for cats and amsterdam after all.

real answer is bbl drizzy.

do you think deadpool and wolverine is gonna do the 780'ish million the other two have done? i think it’s gonna land somewhere in the middle of logan’s 620 million and the previous entries.

it really had some of the worst trailers ever. noone knows how to market a movie anymore except maybe a24, and their recent billion dollar valuable seems to have completely broken them, too.

it’s also why organized sports are ultimately the nerdiest interest. there’s not even a story it’s JUST stats.

also, like, where are the movies for older teenagers and 20'somethings? i don’t think ‘anyone but you’ was a fluke. if you build it they will come. challengers was healthy. i’ll be curious how bikeriders does.

i do think movie marketing is in an even worse place than movie theatres themselves. people simply do not know what’s out when anymore.

half the fun of playing outdoors with the other kids is dissecting the logical problems of whatever you’re playing.

oh i’m sure even back in the oral traditions days people were like ‘actually when i first heard about beowulf it went down differently’

it is fisherr they’re right.

the mad max movies might not be connected, but furiosa and fury road sure are.

yeah conversely 33 million in 1983 dollars would be like 100 million today, 60 million less than furiosa haha.

well no, they just aren’t adjusting for inflation. 30+ million dollars was a lot more seats sold in 1983.
