actually i think the general public has leapfrogged over that and now thinks that disney has absolutely no control over spider-man at all. so they’re still wrong just in the opposite way.

i think it’s more of a twitter joke for 40 year olds who think they’re tapped in with what 19 year olds are saying.

the weirdest one is when edward norton cashed in all his chips to direct and star in a ben stiller romcom about a priest and a rabbi.

even being the office didn’t really ever translate into a huge ratings hit.

i mean, ten million years ago i resented the idea of an american office remake and i was ultimately wrong. may as well embrace change and hope for the best.

well i was joking, but i do think these so-called telltale signs will get less telltale as the tech keeps getting billions of dollars dumped into it. there will always be others, though.

i think the reason it’s hitting with SUCH a thud is precisely because it sounds like it should be good, and isn’t.

they even accidentally did it when they went solo with macbeth/drive away dolls.

it can be two things. i’m sure he ‘likes’ doing a podcast, but i’m sure he likes the brand deals and that it raises his profile as much if not more.

yeah seems clear they made that little aside specifically for people who may not know that.

this feels like a late 80s/90s style comedy concept that was forced into being a festival release because there’s no market for comedies anymore.

also always respect the absolute gall of the coen bros to make THAT as their followup to fargo. 

i’d say pt anderson’s inherent vice is about as close as we’re gonna get ever again.
