yeah, incredibly weird takeaway. ‘it’s not personal, it’s just about my personality and actions’

they’re just having a little fun on the internet.

i’m talking about box office baby not the critics! looks like it made 14 million dollars and cost 15 million - so not a hit.

high concept stuff like borat 2, pee wee’s holiday and bill & ted 3 worked, but they are far and away the exceptions. even comedy sequels made soon after don’t have a great hit ratio.

10-minute-funny-or-die-video ass movie.

i mean shit ‘blue steel’ itself is just a commonly used term.

would have been a huge selling point 10 years ago, too.

most podcasts these days are just b-level celebrities calling in favors from their friends and former coworkers.

i see the (flawed) logic.

the movie might be well-regarded and loved...however, i’d also bet noone 30 and under knows it exists.

what happened with the ryan reynolds version?

i mean yeah it was played for laughs in a comedy. did you find that to be a harrowing portrayal?

i completely disagree with that premise in every way. i think movies like mid90s and shows like pen15 have proven that and can be quite good. they just don’t make that many of them.

there was an 80s revival in the mid-90s with puff daddy sampling and stuff like grosse point blank/romy & michelle’s high school reunion, there was another one in the early aughts with american apparel and the beginning of IP mining like transformers, then to your point there was a third incredibly sincere one with

using the power of a small country to ask a magic 8 ball if a 25 years-too-late sequel to a movie with a famously dead lead actor is a bad idea or not.

besides your point, i also find it super annoying how much mileage they force out of pegging jokes in this franchise. it’s almost gone back around to being offensive in the opposite way - why is a man and a woman having slightly different consensual sex such a hangup?*

it’s just the 80s got overrepresented.

from the two trailers it seems like some big bad is probably destroying universes or has the power to destroy universes, deadpool is recruited by the tva to fix that (presumably because of his 4th wall breaking ability), needs wolverine to help (or suggests it himself). they will obviously bicker and fight a lot for

no i see new things all the time. for example, this is the first time i’ve seen a grownup talk about a knuckles tv show like it’s vietnam.

very curious about that one. deadpools don’t come out in china and it’s still r rated at the end of the day. i do think it’ll comfortably make the same 700-800 million as the last two.
