This is what I’ve been waiting for from Overwatch eSports. I love it when teams try new things; it keeps the tournaments from getting stale, although 5 out of the six characters were the same on both sides in that Mei clip... Hopefully Orisa shakes things up even more for the next tourney.

Yeah, it was super neat. You might even say it was... a-stound-ing.

Amazing play on Eichenwalde. Curious to see what other new strategies this team may concrete into the esports scene for Overwatch. I have a feeling I’m going to see that Eichenwalde play in future ranked games x.x

That was a cool Mei play.

Yeah, I’m confused with the responses to this as it seems Heather is simply pointing out a moment that is potentially homophobic or transphobic and her disappointment with it. Those forms of prejudice aren’t Western, they’re universal.

“read too much into it” is a really easy thing to say when it’s not about something that affects you daily

Why is one region’s reaction to something somehow less valid, simply because the thing that bore it out is normalized in another?

And now 10,000 comments about different cultures not being hung up on gender like the americans are as if the issues trans folks face is unique to the states.

this is true, but it’s still disappointing.

Compared to some other Japanese works I’ve seen, this was pretty damn graceful. Far from perfect, but not a garbage fire by any means. They still have a ways to go, even compared to here in America.

I wish you could upgrade it! I would wear it everywhere! I have the male gerudo outfit, but it’s nowhere near as adorable.

What do you think “American culture” is?

I always wonder what culture, specifically, people stand to lose? I’m an adult, white, male American, and I’m sure I do things that are predictable for my demographic, but, like, what. People will stop drinking beer and watching reality TV? What’s even at stake here?

He’s silver-medaling. People who feel like they’re juuuust on the cusp of the glory of white personhood will double down hard on what they perceive to be white rhetoric and ideology. They make for useful pawns and shock troops. See also: the Irish/Italians, 100 years ago.

You have my genuine gratitude. I was just about to comment, “Who gives a fuck what this idiot neckbeard has to say?” when you pointed out exactly who, and why it matters. So thank you. Hopefully, your words were more impactful on those kids than this fuckhead and his ilk.

I recently visited my girlfriend’s aunt, uncle and her nephews - the kids are the only ones who play video games in their whole family so I have a pretty good rapport with them. We’re sitting there chatting about stupid little kid stuff (they’re 9 and 11) and they start talking about bashing Jews and laughing about

“Designed for gamers by gamers.”

Every time this happens, I’m fascinated and confused.

Scott Bakula is confused as to why his name has been associated with the above picture of Scott Baio
