The Kansas City metro population is over two million. It's a huge fucking region that seemingly never ends.

800,000 people is impressive. There’s no need to pretend like the KC metro area isn’t actually 2.4 million people in order to make it seem bigger than it was.

Ok it's true that the population of the city proper is only about half a mil but the metro area is home to over 2 million people.

The population of KCMO proper is a little deceiving, because there are slightly more than 2 Million people living in the KC metro area.

To be a bit pendantic, KC Metro area is over 2Mil. people. Kinda like DC is only, what, around 500k people, but the DC Metro area is over 5 Mil. people.

Somebody else also mentioned it, but there’s another 150k in Kansas City, KS and 2.5 million in the entire metro area.

For what it’s worth, crowd estimates are often all over the place.
