To be fair, there’s a big overlap in the “Berniebro protest” and “Stein voter” Venn Diagram. It’s not a perfect circle, but they share a lot of area.

It was meant to give the south a greater voice. The EC is an appendage of slavery. Part of the slave power of the south that existed prior to the civil war was that even though a lot of their population had no political voice, they were counted to give greater voice to the slave owners.

So what, then, is the function of the EC? If the EC isn’t there to exercise their own judgement (which they have done before), then why is it there at all? Is it just to disenfranchise voters in every state large enough to have more than 3 Electors?
