As I was writing my comment, I actually heard a little voice ask, "Well how do you think things change unless people are willing to put themselves in uncomfortable situations?" It's the old individual vs society question. I guess I'm just not as brave as some.
This is an extremely well-written post. And there is no doubt that homophobia and transphobia at HBCUs — and in the larger African-American community — is a vital topic for discussion.
