Jet Black from Cowboy Bebop - The dude has seen some shit, plus he's got a cybernetic arm to boot. I think he would make for a more interesting drinking buddy than Spike.

Recently I've been watching Miami Vice and am constantly reminded of how exhilarating the title sequence is; Jan Hammer's pulsating synth score coupled with shots of pink flamingos and snippets of Florida lifestyle. 80's cop shows always had the greatest intros.
